Paws b consists of 6 themes which are listed here and can be delivered as:

          12 x 30-minute lessons or

            6 x 60-minute lessons

Paws b is usually taught to whole classes of children in KS2. It works well with mixed age groups. It is most effective when the class teacher is present.

.b is made up of 10 lessons, including an Introduction - details here. These can be delivered in 10 x lessons from 40-60 minutes long. When .b is taught to young people with exams coming up, extra sessions or drop-ins can be arranged for the exam period.

.b can be taught to whole classes or as a club or as a group of volunteers within a school. Mixed ages work fine too. If a class or year group teacher/TA can be present this works very well.

Mindfulness can be helpful for children with extra physical or learning needs. There are no barriers to prevent them practising mindfulness and all are welcome.

An initial meeting will enable school leaders to clarify their needs and all efforts will be made to arrange the relevant course times to best suit the school and pupils. The special needs of individual  young people can be discussed.

Please get in touch to arrange a meeting or to discuss mindfulness and young people.

Cost

School funding is in crisis in some parts of Cornwall and across the UK. As a school governor and one-time Chair of Governors Dawn has taken part in difficult decisions. We understand the pressure on school leaders to balance their budgets while providing the best possible educational opportunities.

The mental health of our young people, however,  is also at crisis point in the UK. Introducing mindfulness teaching in schools is an upstream intervention, This means it is an inclusive activity which application has been shown to help young people before they reach a stage of crisis.

Mindfulness is a comparatively affordable option for schools trying to support the wellbeing and coping skills of their students.

Both .b or Paws b courses can be funded from various areas of school budgets and parental contributions are popular in some schools.

Schools that run the Paws b course receive a class impact report which collects data about the effects of the learning. Those running .b have the exciting opportunity to participate in cutting edge research.

Please get in touch to discuss the needs of your school and for a cost specific to those requirements.
